There are many types of CNC machine tools, and each type of CNC machine tool has different characteristics due to its different functions, structures, and systems. The content and rules of its maintenance and upkeep also have their own characteristics. Specifically, it should be based on the type, model, and actual use of the machine tool, and refer to the requirements of the machine tool user manual to develop and establish necessary regular and graded maintenance systems. Here are some common and universal daily maintenance points.

(1) Strictly adhere to operating procedures and daily maintenance regulations

CNC equipment operators must strictly abide by operating procedures and daily maintenance systems. The quality of technical and professional skills of operators is an important factor affecting the frequency of faults. When the machine tool malfunctions, the operator should pay attention to keeping the scene and truthfully explain the situation before and after the malfunction to the maintenance personnel, in order to analyze and diagnose the cause of the malfunction and promptly eliminate it.

(2) Prevent dust and dirt from entering the interior of the CNC device

In the air of the machining workshop, there is generally oil mist, dust, and even metal powder. Once they fall on the circuit board or electronic components in the CNC system, it is easy to cause a decrease in insulation resistance between components, and even damage to components and circuit boards. Some users open the door of the CNC cabinet to dissipate heat in summer in order to ensure that the CNC system can work under overload for a long time

It is necessary to check whether the cooling fans on the CNC cabinet are working properly. Check the air duct filter for blockage every six months or every quarter. If there is too much dust accumulation on the filter screen and it is not cleaned in time, it can cause the temperature inside the CNC cabinet to be too high.

Most CNC machine tools produced before the 1980s were equipped with photoelectric paper tape readers. If the tape reading part was contaminated, it would cause errors in reading information. Therefore, it is necessary to maintain the photoelectric reading machine according to regulations.

Excessive wear of the DC motor brushes can affect the performance of the motor and even cause damage to the motor. To this end, regular inspections and replacements should be carried out on the motor brushes. CNC lathes, CNC milling machines, machining centers, etc. should be inspected once a year.

Generally, a rechargeable battery maintenance circuit is installed in the CMOS RAM memory device in a CNC system to ensure that the content of its memory can be maintained during periods when the system is not powered on. In general, even if it has not yet failed, it should be replaced once a year to ensure the normal operation of the system. The replacement of the battery should be carried out under the power supply status of the CNC system to prevent the loss of information in the RAM during replacement.

When spare printed circuit boards are not used for a long time, they should be regularly installed in the CNC system and powered on for a period of time to prevent damage.

Regularly adjust the tightness of the spindle drive belt to prevent loss of rotation caused by belt slipping; Check the constant temperature oil tank for spindle lubrication, adjust the temperature range, replenish oil in a timely manner, and clean the filter; After prolonged use of the tool clamping device in the spindle, there may be gaps that affect the clamping of the tool. Therefore, it is necessary to adjust the displacement of the hydraulic cylinder piston in a timely manner.

Regularly inspect and adjust the axial clearance of the screw thread pair to ensure the accuracy of reverse transmission and axial stiffness; Regularly check if the connection between the screw and the bed is loose; If the protective device of the screw is damaged, it should be replaced in a timely manner to prevent dust or chips from entering.

It is strictly prohibited to load overweight or excessively long cutting tools into the tool magazine to avoid tool dropping or collision between the tool and the workpiece or fixture during tool replacement by the robotic arm; through

In CNC milling, down milling or up milling?

In CNC machining, the rotation direction of the milling cutter generally remains unchanged, but the feed direction changes. There are two common phenomena in milling processing: down milling and up milling.
